Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has been called up for Sweden’s upcoming games.

A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the news that Pontus Jansson has been called into Sweden’s squad for the upcoming international break.
It is little surprise that Jansson is set to potentially get the chance to add to his tally of 20 caps for his country when they face Romania and Norway in Euro 2020 qualifying later this month.
The 28-year-old has been outstanding for the Whites in recent times. He is arguably playing the best football of his spell at Elland Road, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side right in the mix for automatic-promotion out of the Championship.
Leeds have not conceded a goal in their last three games, with the partnership between Jansson and Liam Cooper – as well as with those around them, such as Luke Ayling, Gjanni Alioski and Kiko Casilla – looking as strong as it ever has done.

But plenty of Whites fans on social media have joked that they would have rather Jansson was not receiving a call-up at this stage of the season. Promotion is proving to be tantalisingly close for Leeds, and the supporters would clearly love to wrap every player up in cotton wool if they could.
Leeds have had an incredibly bad run of luck with injuries this term, and they will be hoping that their luck may now be turning heading into what they hope will be the final nine games of the campaign. But they clearly could have done without Jansson adding two more fixtures to his schedule.

Here is how some of the fans reacted to Jansson’s call-up…
