A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to laud Pontus Jansson’s performance during the Whites’ stunning victory over Blackburn on Boxing Day that saw Marcelo Bielsa’s side extend their lead at the top of the Championship.

After coming from 2-0 down to beat Aston Villa at the weekend, some would have been forgiven for thinking that there was no way that Leeds could endure a more dramatic afternoon.

Blackburn took a 2-1 lead into stoppage-time, but Kemar Roofe then scored twice to give Leeds a huge victory that leaves the Whites four points clear at the top of the table.

He made so many surging runs out of defence and rarely wasted possession. Whoscored shows that he found a teammate with 58 of his 65 passes, while no Leeds player won more challenges than the cult-hero.

Jansson seemed to cause the chaos that Leeds needed in stoppage-time by heading into the attack, and it seems fair to say that no player is making more of a contribution to the club’s promotion charge at the moment than the defender.

With that in mind, here is the best of the reaction to his performance…
