Leeds United have reportedly rejected an eight-figure offer for Pontus Jansson this summer.

It has been reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post that Leeds rejected a bid of around £10 million for Pontus Jansson from Russian club Krasnodar before the initial deadline in the English transfer window.

Jansson has often been linked with potential moves away from Elland Road ever since his arrival on loan in 2016. The centre-back has regularly insisted that he is happy at Leeds, but that has seemingly not stopped clubs having a look at trying to lure him away.

And the Yorkshire Evening Post is now reporting that Leeds rejected an offer that was worth around £10 million from the Russian Premier League side – which has prompted a lot of debate amongst the Whites fans on social media.

It appears that the majority of the fans are pleased to see the club turn down the offer and feel that it is a major statement of intent given that the money is bound to have been tempting.

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa arrives for the Sky Bet Championship match between Swansea City and Leeds United at the Liberty Stadium on August 21, 2018 in Swansea, Wales.

When Jansson is at his best, he is a colossus for the Whites and he could be a fantastic addition to Marcelo Bielsa’s side once he gets back to full fitness and is playing regularly for the current Championship pace-setters.

His form over the last year has tempted some to suggest that selling may have been a smart idea, but most of the supporters feel that turning the bid down is definitely the right decision and are pleased to see the Leeds hierarchy make that statement by not cashing in on the Sweden international.
