Leeds United moved themselves to within one point of the Championship play-off places with the win.

Leeds fans have been lauding Pawel Cibicki on Twitter after the forward put in an excellent performance during the Whites’ win over Norwich City on Saturday.

Cibicki went into the fixture having staked a claim to earn more game-time with a hugely impressive performance away at Queens Park Rangers last weekend – providing an assist for one of Kemar Roofe’s three goals and generally looking more threatening than he had in his previous outings for Thomas Christiansen’s side.

He kept his place ahead of the fit-again Pablo Hernandez, and he certainly vindicated Christiansen’s decision to hand him his first league start as it was his brilliant free-kick that allowed Pontus Jansson to head home the game’s only goal.

After the fixture, a number of fans were heaping praise upon the summer signing and expressing their excitement as it almost feels like having a new signing in the ranks given that he had gone into the month still awaiting his Championship debut.

With the fight for a place in the three playing off the striker so competitive right now, there is surely no guarantee that Cibicki will have done enough to guarantee a spot for the home clash with Hull next weekend – but he has certainly done his chances of earning a second start absolutely no harm at all.

And based on the excitement coming from the supporters on Twitter, it appears that they would definitely like to see the former Malmo man keep his place for next Saturday.
