Leeds United went back to the top of the Championship, with Pablo Hernandez proving to be a star of the show.

Leeds fans are rejoicing on Twitter as it appears that Pablo Hernandez is now edging back towards his best following his superb performance during the Whites’ 2-1 win at Wigan on Sunday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side once again lead the way in the Championship after coming from behind to take the three points at the DW Stadium on what was an emotional afternoon for the home side.

It appeared that Wigan were going to give the Whelan family the ideal send-off as Reece James gave them an early lead from a free-kick. But Hernandez, once again, quickly came to Leeds’ rescue.

The Spaniard capitalised on Barry Douglas’ and Mateusz Klich’s excellent play down the left to bag the equaliser inside 10 minutes. And he continued to shine as Leeds went on to turn the game on its head.

Hernandez caused Wigan problems all afternoon and helped Leeds control much of the game. And the fans on social media could seemingly not praise the magician high enough after the victory.

The 33-year-old has been a revelation at Elland Road, and his performance on Sunday was another reminder that he is showing very few signs of slowing down as he approaches an age which should suggest that he is in the twilight of his career.
