Marcelo Bielsa, the Whites boss, is in the running for December’s Championship MOTM award, but some Leeds fans think a rival manager is more deserving.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa of Leeds United looks on during the FA Cup Third Round match between Queens Park Rangers and Leeds United at Loftus Road on January 6, 2019 in London, United Kingdom.

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has been nominated for December’s Championship Manager of the Month award.

Under the Argentine’s stewardship, the Whites claimed five wins and 15 points from their six league fixtures in the final month of 2018, which saw them end the year top of the table.

Sheffield United, Queens Park Rangers, Bolton Wanderers, Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers were all beaten by Leeds during the month.

Bielsa won the MOTM award back in August as Leeds striker Kemar Roofe picked up the Player of the Month award, and he is also nominated for the same accolade for December.

There is a chance that manager and player could make it a “double double” this term, but Bielsa has some stiff competition in the shape of fellow nominee Nigel Adkins.

His Hull City side racked up 16 points from a possible 18 in December, beating QPR, Brentford, Swansea City, Preston North End and Leeds themselves.

Nigel Adkins, manager of Hull City looks on after the FA Cup Third Round match between Millwall and Hull City at The Den on January 06, 2019 in London, United Kingdom.

As a result, the Tigers have come out of the relegation zone and into mid-table, and looking at Twitter, even some Leeds fans have tipped Adkins to beat Bielsa to the accolade:

Lee Johnson of Bristol City and Darren Moore of West Bromwich Albion round off the four-man shortlist for the MOTM award, with the winner announced on Friday morning.
