New Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa met the media on Monday.

Marcelo Bielsa was introduced as Leeds United manager on Monday afternoon amid great fanfare.
The former Argentina manager is regarded as a tactical innovator and has mentored and managed some of the great names in world football including Gabriel Batistuta.
Like Leeds, Bielsa has a big point to prove after his spell as Lille manager ended after only a matter of months.
He admitted he struggled with that failure, quoted by The Guardian: “My self-esteem really suffered. I was removed from my position with the team in 19th place, though we had only played 20% of the matches for which I was contracted.”

Bielsa then has been wise not to make promises of promotion which may later come back to bite him.
He said: “I don’t want to predict the future, I don’t think it is a good idea to be making great statements of intent when I have only just met the players.”
Bielsa also added that there would not be a prolific number of signings, feeling that the Leeds squad is too large and he would focus on quality over quantity, with several outgoings on the cards.

Goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald has already been ditched, released to join Eintracht Frankfurt.
Leeds fans were left encouraged by Bielsa’s sensible opening press conference and are excited about the journey which lies ahead.
