Leeds United have announced that Mallik Wilks has extended his contract at Elland Road until 2022.

A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to respond to the news that the club confirmed on their official website that Mallik Wilks has signed a new contract – and while some have expressed their delight at the news, others are clearly hoping that he is the first of many.
Wilks is catching the eye out on loan with Doncaster Rovers this term, scoring eight goals in 31 appearances for the League One side. But there was some uncertainty surrounding his future with his deal at Elland Road set to expire in the summer.
The news is encouraging given that the 20-year-old continues to impress in the division below. And plenty of supporters are backing him to make an impact for his parent club in the future after extending his contract.

But there are also some supporters on social media who have urged Leeds to get a move on with extending some other deals within Marcelo Bielsa’s side, with Kemar Roofe one name that comes up on a couple of occasions.
Roofe is out of contract at the end of next season (via Daily Mirror) and is enjoying his best year with the Whites, so it is little surprise that the fans are desperate to see talks with the forward start and conclude quickly.

Here is how some of the fans responded to Wilks’ contract announcement…
