Kiko Casilla could reportedly be on his way out of Leeds United this summer after a difficult spell at Elland Road.

A number of Leeds supporters have taken to Twitter to react to reports from The Sun on Sunday (26/5; page 69) over the weekend that suggested that Kiko Casilla could leave Elland Road this summer.

Casilla goes into the summer with a question mark lingering over the role that he is set to play if he stays with the Whites next season. His mistake allowed Derby back into the play-off semi-final which Marcelo Bielsa’s side had been in control of.

It, unfortunately, was not a mistake that caught the fans by complete surprise. Casilla had initially looked to be a real upgrade on Bailey Peacock-Farrell when he arrived in January, but his erratic behaviour caused as many problems for Leeds as his impressive distribution alleviated.

The Sun on Sunday (26/5; page 69) has now claimed that Casilla could potentially end the window having returned to Spain, with Leeds considering potential replacements for the former Real Madrid man.

The reports have largely been met by a positive response on social media. Plenty of fans do not believe that Casilla should be number one next season, and given that he earns over £30,000-a-week, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, leaving the club is in everyone’s best interests.

It must be noted that Casilla has been defended by some supporters, but the majority do not appear at all disappointed that he looks to potentially be on his way out of the club almost as soon as he arrived.
