Leeds United are set to be without Kemar Roofe for the next four weeks, meaning that he will miss the start of the new Championship season.

A number of Leeds fans have reacted angrily on Twitter after the Whites confirmed on their official website that Kemar Roofe will miss the next four weeks after sustaining an ankle injury during the pre-season tour of Australia.

Roofe had to be taken off during their clash with Western Sydney Wanderers, and the supporters were left extremely concerned when images emerged showing the forward wearing a leg brace following the game.

With the new Championship season just over a week away, Leeds fans were waiting nervously for an update. And they are not particularly happy now that they have received one.

United have confirmed on their official website that Roofe is set to miss four weeks, despite the problem not being quite as serious as they initially feared.

Of course, that means that Roofe will miss the opening weeks of the new campaign, and that has led to a number of supporters making a desperate transfer plea to the club in the hope that they may decide to sign a new striker before the window closes.

Roofe was Leeds’ top goalscorer last season and Patrick Bamford has struggled in some of the friendlies, so some want the Whites to make the best of this early warning by landing another goalscorer before it is too late.

The signs suggest that Leeds will have to deal with something like the same injury problems that plagued their first campaign under Bielsa. With the window still open, not acting, in many fans’ eyes, would be a huge error.
