Leeds fans react on Twitter to Kalvin Phillips’ comments

Kalvin Phillips has suggested that he would love to spend the rest of his career at Leeds United.

A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to express their love for Kalvin Phillips after the midfielder told the club’s official website that he would love to spend the rest of his career at Elland Road.

Phillips has enjoyed a superb season this term. He is the only player to start every game under Marcelo Bielsa and has been a revelation in the middle of the park.

The 22-year-old has performed brilliantly in a holding role that regularly sees the academy graduate act as a third centre-back. There is arguably no player who is more important to the balance of the team right now.

Teamtalk reported in September that 12 Premier League sides were monitoring Phillips. But the youngster has seemingly provided a big hint that he has absolutely no desire to go anywhere with his latest comments.

“Obviously that speaks for itself, I am a hard worker. I love playing for Leeds, it is my city and if I can do that for the rest of my life I would love it,” he told Leeds’ official website when asked about starting every game.

Unsurprisingly, the comments have gone down incredibly well amongst the Elland Road faithful. Phillips has not always been a player that looked destined for a key role in Leeds’ side, but the supporters are delighted by what he has said.

The Whites’ fans have had to watch a number of players in recent years who could have questions asked about their attitude. But the current ranks seem to have a completely different outlook, and Phillips seems to epitomise that.
