Leeds fans on Twitter are annoyed that Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has resigned from his post days after the January transfer window closed.

Sky Sports reported on deadline day that Leeds, who were interested in Swans winger Daniel James, saw their deal for the highly-rated youngster breakdown.

It is said the 21-year-old was at Elland Road awaiting a move to the Yorkshire club on Thursday, with the breakdown of the deal not sitting well with Leeds supporters.

Therefore, when the Welsh club announced on their official website on Saturday evening that chairman Jenkins had resigned, fans of Leeds would have prefered it had he done it before the window closed.

One fan on Twitter stated ‘free Daniel James’, with another supporter claiming that the chairman’s treatment of the youngster was ‘disgraceful’.

Here is a selection of Leeds fans on Twitter reacting to Jenkins leaving Swansea:

Versatile winger James has played 18 league games for Swansea this season, scoring two goals and supplying four assists for his teammates, according to transfermarkt.

In August, when Swansea recorded a 2-2 draw at home to the Championship’s second best side, James was an unused substitute on that day.

In 10 days time, Marcelo Bielsa and his team will welcome the recently relegated Premier League outfit to Elland Road, with James hoping to prove his worth on the day.
