Leeds United beat Guiseley 2-1 on Thursday evening.
Leeds United picked up another pre-season win on Thursday night, beating Guiseley 2-1 just a day after hammering York City 5-0.
The Whites saw off more non-league opposition, but Guiseley put up a sterner challenge for Marcelo Bielsa’s side in a narrow victory.
Leeds did though fall behind as Kaine Felix put Guiseley ahead, only for Helder Costa to equalise with a superb solo goal, and the new boy set up Mateusz Bogusz to make it 2-1.
That’s how it finished as Leeds claimed the win, and the performance of winger Costa unsurprisingly caught the eye, grabbing a goal and an assist on his Leeds debut.
Of course, the caveat is that Leeds were only playing a non-league side, but why not get excited about a player’s ability in pre-season?
The Portuguese wide man is a hugely exciting signing, arriving on a season-long loan deal from Wolves, which will be turned permanent next summer.
Costa made the perfect start to his Leeds career, and it’s no great surprise that fans have been taking to Twitter to rave about their new signing after such an encouraging display.
Leeds fans have called Costa ‘unbelievable’ and ‘very impressive’, believing Bielsa has made a great move bringing him to Elland Road, whilst even suggesting that the Championship isn’t ready for what Costa can bring next season.
