Leeds United suffered their first Championship defeat of the season at the weekend.

A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Ben White’s performance during Marcelo Bielsa’s side’s 1-0 defeat to Swansea City on Saturday that has seen United knocked off top spot in the Championship.
The Elland Road faithful would be forgiven for feeling that they have just witnessed the kind of performance that explains why Leeds are not in the Premier League this term.
Bielsa’s men had 21 attempts on goal against the Swans, but only managed to put three on target. The only goal came in the 90th minute as Wayne Routledge’s slightly scuffed attempt found its way into the bottom corner to leave the stadium stunned.
There were a lot of good performances on show from the home side, despite the scoreline. And it appears that White was the player who impressed the Leeds fans the most as he was lauded on social media after another excellent display.

The Brighton loanee has taken little time to settle in at Leeds and appears to have barely put a foot wrong during the opening weeks of the campaign. And while they could not keep a clean sheet in their latest game, it is clear that none of the blame is being put on his shoulders.
Whoscored.com shows that he made 51 accurate passes during the game, while he also won four aerial duels and completed seven interceptions. No other player on the pitch made more than five interceptions.

It was an incredibly frustrating afternoon for Leeds who now have two weeks to come to terms with the loss. But White continues to prove to be an outstanding signing, with one fan labelling the centre-back the Virgil van Dijk of the Championship, while another insisted that he is much better than Pontus Jansson. White’s parents were also lauded.
Here is what some of the supporters were saying about White’s performance following the loss…
