Several Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Leeds Live’s report that Barry Douglas left Elland Road following the 3-2 win against Millwall on Saturday wearing a leg brace.

Douglas came on at half-time at Elland Road, replacing Gjanni Alioski. And it was arguably one of the Scot’s better performances in recent times as the Whites came from 2-1 down to put themselves back into the top two in the Championship.

Douglas’ sumptuous cross allowed Luke Ayling to make the score 2-2 before Pablo Hernandez went on to find the late winner for the home side.

Unfortunately, it appears that the left-back will delay the end to Marcelo Bielsa’s wait for a fully fit squad ahead of Kemar Roofe’s expected return. The 29-year-old was limping for much of the game after a full-blooded challenge with Jed Wallace.

Leeds fans have become used to seeing their players sustain injuries and Douglas has not shown his best form since joining from Wolves in the summer, so it is not being looked upon as the kind of devastating blow that many sides in the Championship would deem it to be at this stage of the season.

In fact, many supporters feel extremely bad for Douglas as his display on Saturday was a reminder of how good he can be as he provided glimpses of his undeniable quality when he got the chance to put the ball into the box.

And there has also been a lot of praise for the way that Douglas battled on after he sustained the injury. It was definitely the kind of performance that the full-back needed, especially with Alioski doing so well in recent months.
