A number of Leeds fans are adamant that Bailey Peacock-Farrell must be replaced after the goalkeeper’s display during the Whites’ 4-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest on New Year’s Day.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side remain at the top of the Championship, but their advantage over Norwich City has been cut to two points. And, perhaps more importantly, they are four clear of Sheffield United.

But they go into their FA Cup third round tie with Queens Park Rangers looking to bounce back from back-to-back defeats after they were beaten at the City Ground.

Leeds deserve credit for fighting from 1-0 down to lead 2-1 during the second-half despite having Kalvin Phillips sent off before the break. But Forest responded superbly to going behind, scoring three times in the latter stages to secure the three points.

It was another disappointing afternoon for Peacock-Farrell. He perhaps did not make any huge errors, but there has been some criticism for his positioning for Forest’s third goal, when he initially looked to come for the corner and found himself hesitating as Daryl Murphy headed the ball home.

His performance has left several Whites supporters taking to social media to insist that the club must sign a new goalkeeper this month. It was already looking set to be an important window following Jamal Blackman’s exit, but many now think that Bielsa must look for a new number one.
