A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Yorkshire Evening Post which have claimed that the Whites have agreed a fee with Burnley for the sale of Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

Peacock-Farrell’s future has been a talking point for much of the summer with Kiko Casilla spending the second-half of last season as Marcelo Bielsa’s number one. The Northern Ireland international told Sky Sports earlier in the window that he would be keen to leave if he is going to remain the Spaniard’s understudy.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that Leeds have agreed a £3.5 million fee with the Clarets, as they prepare to sell Tom Heaton to Aston Villa. And Leeds now plan to look for a new stopper during the final days of the transfer window.

The news has received a mixed reaction on Twitter. The large majority of Leeds supporters appear to be content with the decision to let Peacock-Farrell go, and their biggest problem comes from another aspect of the report.

Peacock-Farrell endured a mixed stint as number one at Elland Road. By the time the January window came around, plenty of fans were ready to see a new signing brought in as some of his performances were criticised, so they have their doubts as to whether he will enjoy a good spell in the top flight – especially with Nick Pope and Joe Hart also on Burnley’s books.

In fact, the only problem that the supporters seem to have is with the reported decision to target a new goalkeeper. Will Huffer and Kamil Miazek appear to be more than capable of stepping into the first-team fold if required, so the fans would rather see the money spent on a new centre-back than another goalkeeper.
