Leeds United have rounded off their summer transfer window by announcing the signing of Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah on loan.

Leeds fans are in a buoyant mood on social media after the Whites completed their summer transfer window by announcing on their official website that they have completed a deal to sign Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah on loan.
Whites supporters have not been able to enjoy the fondest memories of deadline day in recent years. There was the infamous ‘Don’t go to bed just yet’ tweet in 2014 before the club announced Matt Smith’s and Dominic Poleon’s departures, the swap deal involving Luciano Becchio and Steve Morison one year earlier, and of course, the saga involving Daniel James during the most recent January window.
A nightmare deadline day for many would have involved Kalvin Phillips leaving and no signings being brought in. But Leeds ended their summer on a high.
Having already announced a loan deal for Illan Meslier earlier in the day, Leeds handed their supporters another reason to rejoice when it was confirmed in the afternoon that Nketiah has joined from the Gunners on a season-long loan.

Nketiah is incredibly highly rated by Unai Emery’s men, so it appears to be a major coup for the Whites who were looking for a replacement for Kemar Roofe, following his switch to Anderlecht earlier in the week.
And the fans are understandably delighted to see Nketiah sign for the season, with Victor Orta lauded for proving instrumental in getting the youngster to Elland Road. And some supporters have suggested that it could be the kind of signing that makes a huge difference in the promotion race over the season.

Here is how some of the fans reacted to the announcement…
