Leeds fans have been reacting on Twitter to SkyBet listing Victor Sanchez as the favourite to succeed Garry Monk at Elland Road, and it is safe to say that they are not inspired by the prospect of a potential appointment.

The 41-year-old has become the latest name at the top of the betting, with SkyBet listing him at 7/4 currently as the Whites continue their search for the man who is going to replace Monk following their extremely bright season in the Championship.

Sanchez however, is one name that many Leeds fans feel owner Andrea Radrizzani should avoid, judging by some of the comments on social media.

The Spaniard boasts a particularly underwhelming managerial CV, failing to achieve a win-rate of 30% or higher during his spells with Deportivo La Coruna, Olympiakos and Real Betis.

Incredibly, his time with the Greek side saw him take charge of the team for just two games before his departure – making Dave Hockaday’s and Darko Milanic’s respective six-game spells under Massimo Cellino seem like reasonable tenures.

And those facts have not escaped the Leeds fans who have taken to Twitter to discuss the news that he is the current favourite for the role, with many urging Radrizzani to pursue other options.

Here is the best of the reaction…

But before Leeds fans become too concerned that Sanchez could be on the way, the Yorkshire Evening Post‘s chief football writer Phil Hay has suggested that he is currently not a standout candidate as far as the club are concerned – though an appointment cannot be ruled out.
