Leeds United have announced that a deal is in place for Samu Saiz to become the Championship side’s latest signing.
Leeds fans have been reacting on Twitter to the news that the club have confirmed on their official website that Samu Saiz has agreed a deal to join the Whites subject to a medical.
After a quiet start to the window, Leeds have been busy lately, making seven signings so far – with Saiz joining the likes of Mateusz Klich and Vurnon Anita in arriving at the club, while the likes of Pontus Jansson’s and Hadi Sacko’s permanent switches have been confirmed in recent times.
Saiz’s signing perhaps sends one of the bigger statements of the summer, with the Yorkshire Evening Post suggesting that he is set to arrive for a fee of £3 million having agreed a four-year deal at Elland Road.
The Yorkshire Evening Post adds that Saiz had a number of offers from Spanish clubs – but it was Leeds who outbid the others for the Huesca man.
And it is safe to say that the reaction to the news has been extremely positive, with Leeds supporters clearly delighted with the club landing an attacking midfielder – formerly on both Real Madrid’s and Atletico Madrid’s books – who scored 12 times in the second tier in Spain last season.
And with the optimism surrounding the club already at a very high level given the previous transfer business and the fact that Leeds once again own their stadium, the news of Saiz’s arrival has given fans another reason to be hopeful about the coming campaign.
