Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips is reportedly on Norwich City’s radar this summer.
A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports from the Daily Mail which have suggested that Norwich are plotting a £12 million bid for Kalvin Phillips this summer.
Phillips has been outstanding since Marcelo Bielsa’s arrival at Elland Road. No player arguably has a more important role in Bielsa’s system, with Phillips linking the defence and midfield superbly to earn the nickname, ‘the Yorkshire Pirlo’.
With Leeds suffering an agonising play-off semi-final defeat, it is no surprise that the 23-year-old is one of the players seemingly attracting attention this summer, with the Mail reporting that the Canaries are plotting a bid for the midfielder.
According to the Mail, Norwich plan to offer £12 million in the hope that they can see off competition from the likes of Bournemouth for his signature ahead of their return to the Premier League.
But it is clear from the reaction on social media that Andrea Radrizzani will anger a lot of Leeds fans if he considers letting Phillips leave for Carrow Road, and he certainly must not entertain the idea of selling for that price.
Phillips has been one of the best players in the Championship this past season and has the potential to get even better having only played in his current role for one campaign. And thus, the fans feel that selling for anything like £12 million would be a dreadful decision from the club.
