Leeds fans have been reacting on Twitter after Marcus Antonsson enjoyed another bright afternoon during his Blackburn loan spell as he scored twice to inspire Rovers to a 3-0 win over Bury.

Antonsson endured a difficult first year at Elland Road after a change of system early in the season seemed to make him fairly redundant for the Whites, and it would not have surprised many when he headed out on loan for this campaign.

However, he is making the most of his time at Ewood Park, and enjoyed arguably his best performance for the League One side to date at the weekend, bagging an impressive first-half brace to take his tally to six for the season in all competitions.

The goals did not escape the attention of the Leeds supporters on social media. It has been a frustrating time for Thomas Christiansen’s men of late, with their early season form being overshadowed by a poor recent run that has seen them slide out of the play-off places.

Current first choice striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga has scored a number of goals since arriving on loan, but his performances have also attracted plenty of criticism lately.

And with the other strikers in the first-team squad arguably doing little to put pressure on the German, there are a number of supporters who have expressed their hope that there is a recall clause in Antonsson’s loan deal at Blackburn as they feel that he would make more of an impact than the likes of Jay-Roy Grot and Pawel Cibicki have.
