Leeds United may not be looking forward to the fourth round draw in the FA Cup, but Mallik Wilks will be.

While Leeds were knocked out of the FA Cup on Sunday, it did not escape the attention of a number of Whites fans that Mallik Wilks was performing superbly and scoring once again to help Doncaster book their place in the fourth round of the competition.
Both Leeds and Wilks were coming up against Championship opposition on Sunday, with the Whites travelling to QPR while Donny took on Preston. And while Marcelo Bielsa’s side can now concentrate solely on the Championship promotion race after a defeat, the youngster will be looking forward to the fourth round draw.
The 20-year-old showed a lot of composure to round off the 3-1 win at Deepdale with the final goal. Wilks got between the two defenders and lifted the ball past the goalkeeper and tapped it into the empty net.
The attacker was arguably the star of the show in the victory. He nearly scored a wonderful goal in the first-half after a lovely piece of close control led to a curling shot that just could not come back enough to find the top corner.

And after Leeds’ defeat at Loftus Road, a number of Whites fans on social media have asked whether the club may have made a mistake loaning Wilks out for the second-half of the season.

But after seeing a number of the club’s other youngsters not manage to get the better of QPR, some have questioned whether he could have had a role to play during Leeds’ promotion push after shining against Championship opposition and bagging his ninth goal of the campaign.
