Laurens De Bock has left Leeds United on loan for the rest of the season, and the fans do not appear to be disappointed.

A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the news that the club confirmed on their official website that Laurens De Bock has left Elland Road on loan for the rest of the season.

It always appeared unlikely that the left-back would remain at the club beyond the end of the transfer window. After an encouraging couple of appearances following his January move, the Belgian’s form seemed to dip dramatically and he was heavily criticised as Leeds’ season fell apart.

Tom Pearce emerged from the under-23s and pushed him down the pecking order, and Barry Douglas’ subsequent arrival left his first-team prospects looking even bleaker.

And the club have now confirmed on their official website that De Bock has returned to his home country having joined Oostende on loan until next summer. And unsurprisingly, the news has gone down well amongst the fans.

De Bock played well in pre-season, but always faced a massive task trying to break back into the side with Douglas joining from Wolves, so there is little disappointment that he has moved on.

It has been suggested that a loan move could be ideal for De Bock given that a temporary exit seemed to give Mateusz Klich a chance to restore his confidence. But the large majority appear to be unconcerned and feel that he will not be missed this year.
