Leeds United fans have issued a mixed reaction on social media to the news that the striker has received international recognition.

There has been a mixed reaction amongst Leeds fans on Twitter to the news that Jay-Roy Grot will be a part of the Netherlands’ under-20 squad for their upcoming friendlies with Switzerland and Italy.
Grot has not exactly enjoyed the best time since arriving at Elland Road in the wake of Chris Wood’s departure at the end of the summer window.

His imposing physique suggested that he would provide something different to Thomas Christiansen’s squad, especially when his first piece of notable action saw him out-muscle a Nottingham Forest player and almost send him off the City Ground pitch on his debut.
Unfortunately, he has not exactly kicked on during his first few months in Yorkshire, failing to find the back of the net in his first 12 appearances for the Whites – though he has started on just two occasions, both coming in the Carabao Cup.

With Leeds looking woefully out of form lately, Grot is one of the players who seems to have attracted the most criticism from the supporters – and that has meant that many have questioned the decision to bring him in the Dutch under-20s squad for the international break.
But his call-up has also prompted a number of fans to criticise the supporters who have slated Grot, and those fans have reiterated that the forward deserves time as he is still young and is still finding his feet in the Championship.
Here is the best of the mixed reaction…
