Leeds United have confirmed that they have parted company with Thomas Christiansen.

Leeds fans have been reacting on Twitter to the news that the club confirmed on their official website on Sunday that Thomas Christiansen has left Elland Road after less than one season in charge of the Whites.
It had been a horrible spell for Christiansen over the last month or so. Leeds were 10th in the table and had not tasted a victory in the Championship since Boxing Day when they came from behind to beat struggling Burton Albion.

The timing of the decision will have come as little surprise to the Elland Road faithful as it comes the day after the Whites were thrashed 4-1 at home by Cardiff City in a game that saw Christiansen’s men pick up their fourth red card in five games as Gaetano Berardi picked up two yellows in the first-half.
In terms of those talking about Christiansen, there appears to be quite a lot of sympathy towards the now-former boss. The 44-year-old was well liked and conducted himself with a lot of class during his time with the club. However, while there is a lot of praise for Christiansen’s character, the decision has not received a negative response.

A few names have been suggested by the fans following Christiansen’s departure. The likes of Marco Silva and Simon Grayson have been suggested, while the fans are not keen to see Steve McClaren’s employment status change anytime soon courtesy of Leeds.
There have also been a lot of calls for Victor Orta to be dismissed also. Orta has been the driving force behind the club’s recruitment, and some certainly feel that Christiansen has paid the price for that.
Here is what the Leeds fans made when the news broke that Christiansen had left…
