Patrick Bamford was one of the Leeds United stars to feature in the club’s latest under-23 game.

A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the news that Patrick Bamford had to be substituted during the first-half of the under-23s’ clash with Bristol City due to a knee injury.
Bamford was one of a number of first-team stars who were handed the chance to play against the Robins. Like Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman, the striker has barely featured for Marcelo Bielsa’s side following his summer move, so the under-23 game represented an opportunity to build up some match sharpness and perhaps prove a point to the first-team boss.
And it appeared that he may be about to put some pressure on Kemar Roofe as he got onto the scoresheet at Elland Road. It was a great finish from the former Middlesbrough ace, as he showed all of his composure to lift the ball into the roof of the net after some excellent work from Jack Clarke.
But his afternoon would end prematurely as he sustained a knee injury. It remains to be seen how serious the problem is. The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that he is going to be assessed at the weekend, but the club are hopeful that the knock may not be too bad given that he drove himself home after coming off.

The injury has been met with plenty of frustration on Twitter. Some fans are fearful of how long they could be without Bamford for, while others are questioning whether it was right to include him in the team for the game.
It is only a very small portion of the fans who do not feel that he should have played, but those fans are not entirely sure what there was to gain from the striker featuring.
