Lionel Messi of all people is trying to sabotage Leeds United’s first season back in the Premier League.
Not intentionally of course, because Messi probably doesn’t care too much about the Elland Road side, but he does reportedly have an interest in their adored coach Marcelo Bielsa.
According to The Sun, the Barcelona icon has told the club to try and hire the Leeds boss.
The 65-year-old has a bit more clout in football than he did two years ago after guiding the Whites to Premier League promotion this past season, ending the club’s 16-year exile from the top flight.
With that in mind, Bielsa is a revered figure in West Yorkshire – and for good reason – and Leeds fans aren’t all that fearful about losing the veteran Argentine, even if Messi wants him.

At this stage, Bielsa’s decisions will be influenced by sentiment and there’s just no way on earth that he isn’t going to be managing the Elland Road club come next season after bringing them back to the big time.
