Leeds United have announced that Macedonian winger Ezgjan Alioski has become their ninth signing of the summer.

Leeds fans have been reacting to the news that the club have announced on their official website that Ezgjan Alioski has become their ninth signing of the summer – and while they generally appear to be pleased with the deal, they have urged the Whites to now turn their attention to other areas of the squad.

Alioski has signed a four-year contract with Leeds, the club’s official website has confirmed, after the Championship side agreed an undisclosed fee with Lugano.

The versatile 25-year-old enjoyed a stunning season in Switzerland last time out, scoring 16 times in the league, and Leeds fans will be hoping that he can replicate something like that run of form and provide Chris Wood with a greater level of support.

The news has undoubtedly gone down well with the large majority of the Elland Road faithful, with Alioski seemingly boasting the kind of lethal touch that could perhaps make Thomas Christiansen’s men much more dangerous going forward.

However, the news has also led to a fairly clear message from a section of the fans.

Of the nine signings made, Pontus Jansson is the only out-and-out defender to have been recruited, and he was a part of a defence last season that was already lacking numbers. And some of the supporters have expressed their desire to see the club now switch their attention during the remaining weeks of the window on trying to bolster their options at the back.
