Leeds United have mutually agreed to terminate Eoghan Stokes’ contract.

Leeds United have reported on their official website that the club and striker Eoghan Stokes have come to an agreement to terminate the Irishman’s Elland Road contract – and fans have reacted angrily on Twitter.
The 21-year-old has seen his contract ripped up after failing to break into the first-team set up at Leeds, despite making his senior debut earlier this season.
The nine-time Ireland Under-19 international started and played 66 minutes of Leeds’ 5-1 win over League Two side Newport County in the Carabao Cup, but he failed to build on that.
Leeds have confirmed an influx of Under-23 signings of late, including strikers Adrian Balboa, Sam Dalby and Ryan Edmondson and that could have pushed Stokes further down Carlos Corberan’s Under-23 pecking order.
Certainly, it has affected his chances of another first-team appearance but Leeds fans have reacted frustratingly to the club’s decision to end his contract now.
One fan even predicted that he will “come back to haunt us”.
