A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports from The Sun on Sunday (4/8; page 67) over the weekend suggesting that the Whites have rejected a bid from Burnley for Kalvin Phillips.

Phillips’ future has been a major talking point throughout the summer at Elland Road after an outstanding first campaign under Marcelo Bielsa. The midfielder played the full 90 minutes of Sunday’s impressive 3-1 win over Bristol City, but it appears that some Premier League sides are keen to sign him before the transfer window shuts.

The Sun on Sunday (4/8; page 67) reported that both Aston Villa and the Clarets are interested in Phillips. And the report suggested that Sean Dyche’s men had made an offer for the 23-year-old that would have seen Leeds land a fee and also get Matej Vydra in exchange.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the report notes that the Whites rejected the offer. And it appears that that decision has gone down extremely well amongst the Elland Road faithful on social media.

As reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds attempted to sign Vydra last summer before wage demands scuppered a deal and led to the forward heading to Burnley in an £11 million deal (via Daily Mail). And the fans do not want him to now be involved in the potential deal that could take Phillips away from the club.

In fact, the Leeds supporters have made it clear that unless Burnley are prepared to offer Chris Wood and around £20 million, they do not want to see Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta agree anything with the Clarets that sees Phillips head to Turf Moor.
