The Whites brought the Barcelona academy star to Elland Road earlier in July.

Leeds United's Rafa Mujica in action during the Pre-season Friendly match between York City and Leeds United on July 10, 2019 in York, England.

Leeds United new-boy Rafa Mujica has taken to Twitter with a message for the Whites fanbase following his first appearance for the club in the 5-0 friendly win at York City.

The 20-year-old joined the Championship outfit on 4 July after his Barcelona contract expired, penning a three-year deal at Elland Road which takes him to the summer of 2022 (official Leeds website).

Mujica, who will initially link up with the Under-23s of Carlos Corberan, came on in the 62nd minute of the game at Bootham Crescent as Marcelo Bielsa replaced all ten outfield players.

He certainly showed some glimpses of quality in the number 10 role, coming close to scoring on 77 minutes and again not long before the final whistle in the runout.

Here is what the Spaniard said on the social media platform, which prompted some Leeds fans to praise him for his cameo:

The Leeds senior squad is to face another Yorkshire side tonight, following up the Minstermen friendly with a trip to Guiseley, which kicks off at 7:45pm BST.

After the local friendlies, the Whites fly out to Australia, where they will take on Manchester United in Perth on 17 July before facing A-League side Western Sydney Wanderers in New South Wales three days later, and then will take on Serie A side Cagliari in Italy on 27 July (Yorkshire Evening Post).

After pre-season, Leeds begin their Championship season away at Bristol City on Sunday 4 August.
