Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to heap praise on Pascal Struijk following his display in the 1-0 defeat to Wolves on Monday evening.
The Dutch defender was initially named on the bench by Marcelo Bielsa, but after Liam Cooper was forced to withdraw from the warm-up, Struijk stepped in and did superbly.
Despite conceding a goal to Raul Jimenez, which ultimately turned out to be the winner, the 21-year-old coped with the threat of Wolves very well.
WhoScored shows that Struijk – who has three caps for the Netherlands Under-17 side – made two tackles and completed three clearances, while he also successfully completed both his attempted long passes.

The centre-back also completed 89.6% of his passes against Nuno Espirito Santo’s men on an evening where he didn’t let Bielsa down despite being a late addition to the starting XI.
It was only Struijk’s second Premier League start, and a tough one too with the likes of Jimenez, Adama Traore and Daniel Podence running at him.

Leeds now sit tenth in the Premier League with seven points, having won two and lost two of their first five games this term.
Let’s see what some Leeds fans on Twitter have been saying about the young Dutchman’s display against Wolves…
