The former Leeds United star had a brilliant debut for Barnsley on Saturday.

Leeds United might well wind up regretting the sale of Mallik Wilks.
That is because the 20-year-old enjoyed a sensational debut on Saturday as new club Barnsley beat Fulham 1-0 at Oakwell.
Wilks, a product of Leeds’ Thorp Arch academy, was sold to the Tykes last month but it wouldn’t have been a massive fee, given that he hadn’t made his Championship debut for the Whites.
A lot of fans were looking forward to seeing what Wilks could do in their team this season after a stunning loan spell in League One with Doncaster Rovers last term.
By the same token, a lot of supporters were unhappy to see him sold, and it’s fair to say that some Leeds fans are even more unhappy now by virtue of the fact that he dazzled on his league debut yesterday.
Here’s how they responded:
Was Wilks needed this season? Potentially not because Bielsa, to his credit, has an abundance of class wingers, including Helder Costa.
That being said, there was no need to sell him – definitely not to a Yorkshire and Championship rival, and definitely not for peanuts.
This is one of those that could come back to haunt the Elland Road side in a major, major way.
