Leeds United beat Norwich City 3-2 at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds United continued their fine form as they beat promotion-chasing Norwich City 3-2 at Carrow Road – and fans want a new contract for Garry Monk.

The Whites went into the game off the back of two straight league wins against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burton Albion, and were hoping to pile on the misery for Norwich after recent defeats against Preston North End and Brighton and Hove Albion.

Robbie Brady’s first half goal gave the Canaries a 1-0 lead, but Pontus Jansson and Chris Wood struck after half time to put Leeds in front.

Kyle Lafferty looked to have rescued a point for Norwich with an 88th minute equaliser, but Leeds snatched all three points when Ronaldo Vieira’s long-range strike skidded past Michael McGovern and into the net.

Leeds have now won three Championship games in a row, and Saturday’s result means that Garry Monk’s men now lie sixth in the Championship table, occupying one of the four play-off spots.

After the game, Leeds fans took to Twitter to give their views on the game, and commented on manager Monk’s contract situation at Elland Road.

Appointed over the summer, former Swansea boss Monk has won 50% of his games as Leeds boss, and has turned the club into a well-organised unit with real hopes of promotion back to the Premier League.

Monk penned a one-year rolling contract when he took over at Leeds, and fans took to Twitter after Saturday’s win to urge the club to hand Monk a contract extension sooner rather than later.
