Leeds United fans want to sign Newcastle United’s Dwight Gayle.

Leeds United fans on Twitter are calling for a move for Newcastle United’s Dwight Gayle.
The Whites were rocked earlier today with the news that Kemar Roofe, their leading goalscorer of last season, is sidelined for a month with an ankle injury.
Newcastle have just broken their transfer record on a £40 million deal for Joelinton and it has been reported that Steve Bruce would be planning to move on Gayle.
Leeds kick off their season with a trip to Bristol City on August 4 and Patrick Bamford – who has struggled during pre-season – is Marcelo Bielsa’s only senior option up front for that one.
And fans of the Elland Road club are calling on Bielsa and Director of Football Victor Orta to bring in the Magpies hitman.
Would it be a good signing? No – it’d be an outstanding one.
Gayle scored 24 times in 34 Championship starts on loan at West Bromwich Albion last season and, at 29, he could very easily tear this division a new one again at Leeds.
The bad news is that Newcastle want £15 million for him [The Sun]. Thing is, Gayle isn’t good enough in the Premier League to attract any top-tier side at that price, and not a lot of Championship clubs can afford him.
It’s very possible that the Magpies will make him available for loan again and, if they do, the Whites should be all over it.
