Leeds United lost 3-2 at Ipswich Town this afternoon.

Leeds United ended their season with a defeat at Ipswich Town, losing 3-2 to head into the play-offs in the worst possible way.

The Whites endured a dismal Easter to end their automatic promotion hopes, and with just three wins in their last eight, were hoping to end the season on something of a high.

However, Flynn Downes put already-relegated Ipswich in front after Leeds failed to clear, before Mateusz Klich equalised for Marcelo Bielsa’s men.

Andre Dozzell restored Ipswich’s advantage, only for Stuart Dallas to bundle home a leveller, and Leeds had a golden chance to win the game when Luke Chambers was sent off for fouling Kemar Roofe, but Roofe failed from the spot.

A point would have been a tad disappointing, but to lose was unthinkable. Sadly for Leeds, that’s exactly what they did, as a hopeful ball forward wasn’t dealt with, and Collin Quaner slotted home for a late winner for Ipswich.

Leeds managed to hang on to third place with West Brom losing at Derby County, but their recent form will be a major concern heading into the playoffs.

Fans are particularly worried about goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, as he wasn’t at his best today, with the Spaniard comedically failing to deal with the ball forward for Quaner’s goal, colliding with teammate Luke Ayling to hand Quaner an open net.

Leeds fans have been taking to Twitter to suggest that they have regressed since Casilla joined from Real Madrid in January, feeling that he’s way out of his depth and needs to be dropped for the playoffs, with one fan calling his display a disgrace.
