Marcelo Bielsa will hope to guide the Whites to the Championship playoff final at Wembley providing they can overcome the Rams at Elland Road.

Leeds United captain Liam Cooper has urged the Whites fanbase to “be intimidating” when Derby County come to Elland Road on Wednesday night and also do their bit in boosting Marcelo Bielsa’s side on the pitch.

Kemar Roofe’s goal at Pride Park on Saturday, which gave Leeds their third win over Derby this season, is the slender difference between the two sides ahead of their Championship playoff semi-final second leg in Yorkshire.

The two clubs have had their differences this season, with January’s league fixture at Elland Road overshadowed by the so-called “Spygate” controversy, while Saturday’s first leg saw tempers flare on both sides.

“It’s going to be electric,” defender Cooper, who has made 36 league appearances – all starts – this season, told the official website of what he expects the Elland Road atmosphere to be like on Wednesday. “I’ll probably go as far as to say it’ll be the best we’ve heard it this season.

“We need the fans to be intimidating, but we know they’re going to be there, they always are home and away, no matter what. Even through the bad days, they’ve always been there, we just really want them to boost us, and hopefully we can feed off that energy to put in another strong performance.”

As stated on BBC Sport, none of the previous 17 teams to lose the first leg of a second-tier playoff semi-final at home have progressed to the final, which bodes well for Leeds as they seek to seal a spot at Wembley and go on to play Premier League football for the first time since 2004.
