Several Leeds fans have expressed their delight at the form that Tyler Roberts is showing for the Whites right now after the forward produced an outstanding display to help Marcelo Bielsa’s men beat Millwall 3-2 at Elland Road on Saturday.

Leeds are back inside the Championship’s top two. But it appeared for a while that they would end the day four points behind Sheffield United heading into the final seven games of the season.

However, two goals for Andi Weimann at Bramall Lane saw Bristol City win 3-2, and Leeds produced a similar turnaround, with Luke Ayling and Pablo Hernandez finding the back of the net in the final 20 minutes.

Roberts may not have scored, but he was instrumental in the comeback. The 20-year-old was superb over the 90 minutes, and looked to be one of the players capable of making something happen when Leeds were crying out for some inspiration.

And it was his excellent move down the left wing that led to Hernandez scoring the winner in the final minutes for his fourth league assist of the season.

That number brings him level with Samuel Saiz’s tally for the campaign. And interestingly, the pair have both made 15 starts, with Roberts making three more appearances from the bench. He has also scored three goals.

Roberts showed promise during the early weeks of the season, but few could have imagined how well he would do following Saiz’s departure and how influential he would become in such a short space of time.

And unsurprisingly, the supporters have lauded Roberts’ performance on social media following the win, with some suggesting that he pushed Hernandez for the man of the match award.
