Leeds United suffered a hugely disappointing defeat in their latest Championship clash, but one player seemed to impress the supporters.

Saturday’s home defeat to Cardiff City is likely to go down as a game that Leeds fans would prefer to forget as quickly as possible as Neil Warnock’s side strolled to an emphatic win that leaves the Whites well adrift of the top six in the Championship.
With Gaetano Berardi dismissed and Pontus Jansson stretchered off, there was arguably little reason for Thomas Christiansen not to believe that there was some kind of force conspiring against him and his team as they were beaten 4-1.

But there was clearly one positive the Elland Road faithful took from the game and that is the signing of Adam Forshaw as his first two performances hint that the £4.5 million spent on him – fee reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post – will prove to be a bargain.
It may not have been the most impressive display from the former Middlesbrough man – who, in fairness, spent most of the game at centre-back – but the way that he conducted himself out on the pitch has led a large section of the fans to believe that the Whites have uncovered a potential captain.

At his best, current skipper Liam Cooper has been brilliant. But he has let the side down on a couple of occasions, and it is probably fair to suggest that he has never quite won all of his doubters over – despite stepping up for much of this term.
And it appears that some supporters believe that Forshaw is the kind of leader that Leeds need moving forward if they are going to get their play-off push back on track. But at the moment, they seem to be delighted with the deal to sign him, and that appears to be making the defeat ever so slightly easier to cope with.
Here is the best of the reaction to Forshaw’s display…
