Leeds United drew 2-2 away at Swansea City on Tuesday evening.
Leeds United’s winning run in the Championship came to an end on Tuesday night, though they did come from behind twice to claim a 2-2 draw at Swansea City.
The Whites had been in swashbuckling form under Marcelo Bielsa, winning each of their opening three games in convincing fashion, scoring nine goals and conceding just twice.
That winning run was never going to last forever, and Leeds faced a tricky test on Tuesday as they travelled to take on Swansea City, with Leeds-born striker Oliver McBurnie opening the scoring for the hosts.
Bielsa wasn’t happy and made an early change with Kalvin Phillips being hooked in favour of Lewis Baker, and his side responded as a fine run and cross from teenager Jamie Shackleton allowed Kemar Roofe to continue his superb form with the equaliser.
McBurnie put Swansea back in front with a superb header after the break, but Leeds came back again, and Patrick Bamford’s cross somehow found its way to Pablo Hernandez, who struck again his former club to salvage a point.
Swansea gave Leeds their biggest test of the season so far, and Bielsa not only substituted Phillips after less than half an hour, but replaced Ezgjan Alioski with new signing Jack Harrison at half time.
The winger didn’t exactly cover himself in glory in his second Championship appearance for Leeds, and it remains to be seen whether the Manchester City loanee did enough in Bielsa’s eyes to earn a starting place against Norwich City this weekend.
During and after the game, Leeds fans took to Twitter to comment on Harrison’s performance, with something of a mixed reaction, as some suggested that he is frustrating and hasn’t impressed during his time with the club, and others actually felt that he was tidy, made a real impact and showed promise at the Liberty Stadium.
