It’s a pretty good time to be a Leeds United fan. Managed by the legendary Marcelo Bielsa, the Whites were quick out of the starting blocks this season and, after 17 games, remain in promotion contention.

With the international break putting a halt to proceedings, Leeds fans can reflect positively on how they’ve done so far, sitting third in the Championship table – just three points off the top.

But even though it’s still fairly early in the season, some supporters will be harbouring hopes of being in the Premier League next season. And if a particular report from Australia is anything to go by, the Yorkshire club is in line for a glamorous pre-season ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.

According to The World Game, Leeds will travel Down Under for a tour in July, which reportedly includes a fixture against none other than their old rivals Manchester United.

The report confidently states that the Whites will face the Red Devils in Perth on Wednesday 17 July, before facing Western Sydney Wanderers on 21 July to mark the opening of their new home ground in Parramatta.

Although the report has not be confirmed by the club, plenty of Leeds fans are excited by the prospect of a trip to Oz, with some taking to Twitter to share their thoughts:

Other Leeds fans, meanwhile, focused on the Manchester United fixture in particular, relishing the potential prospect of facing the old enemy once again:

With the report declaring that “an official announcement of the fixtures is expected to be made on Wednesday”, Leeds fans will be monitoring proceedings intently, with the prospect of a trip halfway across the world seemingly on the cards.
