A handful of Leeds United fans have been extremely impressed by Jon Nolan and have suggested signing him after their play-off final defeat.

A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the possibility of signing Jon Nolan after the midfielder put in a superb performance during the League One play-off final, but ultimately missed out on promotion to the Championship.

The Daily Mirror (19/03; page 47) reported that Leeds were amongst the sides keen on signing the 26-year-old this summer, with Norwich City and Sheffield United also linked with a potential swoop.

Nolan has been superb in the third tier this past season, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists. His stunning goal at The Valley helped the Shrews to Wembley, and he certainly did his best to inspire the side to go all the way and book their ticket to the Championship for next season.

Unfortunately for Nolan, Rotherham United sealed a return to the second tier at the earliest opportunity as they won 2-1 after extra-time. And it appears that some Whites supporters are now hoping that the agonising defeat may lead to Nolan seeking a new challenge during the coming months.

Paul Heckingbottom’s men need something of an overhaul over the summer after such a disappointing end to the campaign which saw the side fall out of promotion contention and into the bottom-half of the table.

And it appears that some of the Leeds supporters on social media would certainly not mind if Nolan was one of the players brought in as part of any potential overhaul based on his display in the play-off final.
