Brighton fans on Twitter praised Ben White for his performance during his side’s 2-0 win against Leeds United on Saturday.
This time last season, White was donning the colours of Leeds as they were planning their return to the big time.
Many Leeds fans wanted White to return to Elland Road last summer, but it wasn’t meant to be as the ball-playing centre-back stayed put at the Amex.
And what decision it has been from Brighton because, not only was he outstanding yesterday, but he has been equally good this season.
In recent weeks, Leeds have produced some quality performances and results, no more so than at Manchester City.
But with White making his typical marauding runs from the back, he enjoyed himself against his former side, who struggled to replicate those recent displays.
It won’t be too long before White is donning England colours and linking up with Kalvin Phillips at St George’s Park because he’s not far off from that maiden call.
It may not come before the Euros but it would be a surprise, if his form continues, that he’s not playing for his country by this time next year.
