Patrick Bamford has suffered a lengthy injury after turning out for Leeds’ Under-23 side.

Leeds United have suffered a heavy blow in their bid for Premier League promotion after new marquee signing Patrick Bamford was told he would be sidelined for four months – and some fans want Caleb Ekuban recalled.
The 25-year-old turned out for Leeds’ Under-23 side against Bristol City as the Whites earned a huge 5-0 win over the Robins, with Bamford starting alongside fellow new signings Jamal Blackman, Jack Harrison and Lewis Baker.
Indeed, Bamford got his name on the score sheet in the first half but has sustained a posterior cruciate ligament injury, meaning he will be sidelined until the new year.
It leaves Leeds with just Kemar Roofe as a first-team option up front, with the former West Bromwich Albion and Oxford United striker keeping Bamford sidelined so far.
Loanee Izzy Brown can play up front but is preferred in attacking midfield, while Sam Dalby and Ryan Edmondson continue to impress in the academy sides. Or, Leeds could recall one of their loaned out strikers.

Some Leeds fans are desperate for the Whites to recall 24-year-old Ekuban from Turkish SuperLig side Trabzonspor, though it does remain unclear if Leeds included an option in the deal to do just that.
Ekuban scored on his debut for the Turkish outfit against Leeds’ rivals Galatasaray, but only managed two goal last season. But fans are keen to see him return to provide cover for Roofe.
