Uwe Rosler is capable of taking Leeds forward but he needs the time to correct any bad spells of form next season.
The dust has settled on Leeds United’s appointment of Uwe Rosler as the club’s head coach, with Massimo Cellino slamming shut the Neil Redfearn era at Elland Road.
Despite the circumstances surrounding the way Redfearn was treated, Rosler is a good appointment and represents an experienced coach who can help the club move forward.
The key for Rosler is getting the time and the freedom to go about his business, making changes to the squad and implementing new ideas over the best way for the team to play.
The test with regards to whether Cellino will give him time, will come when Leeds first taste defeat during the new season.
All teams go through difficult patches of form and Rosler needs to be given the chance to pull the team out of any bad spell, rather than having Cellino pull the trigger, firing him and sending Leeds back to square one.
The aim next season will be a position in the Championship’s top six but it won’t be easy.
