Leeds are likely to be busy this summer after a disappointing 2017-18 campaign.
Norwich City veteran Wes Hoolahan is set to leave Carrow Road at the end of his contract, 10 years after moving to the Championship side from Blackpool in 2008 – and Leeds United fans have considered the possibility of signing him.
The 35-year-old’s current contract is set to expire on June 30, in what has been a difficult season for the 43-time Republic of Ireland international in terms of game time.
That is largely due to the rise of impressive youngster James Maddison, leaving Hoolahan to fight for scraps from the bench. A Norwich legend, Hoolahan has featured in 28 league games, 15 of which have been as a substitute.
Norwich confirmed on their official website that the former Livingston star would be leaving east Anglia at the end of the season, with only two Championship games left to play.
Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter to news that Hoolahan is set to leave Norwich, and the majority reckon Paul Heckingbottom could do a lot worse than signing the influential playmaker on a free transfer.
One Leeds fan described him as a “special player”, while another would happily have Hoolahan “for a season or two”.
