Dean Smith reckons Villa will score against Leeds on Sunday.
Dean Smith has been quoted as saying that he expects his Aston Villa side to find the back of the net against Championship leaders Leeds United on Sunday afternoon – and Leeds fans have blasted the Villa boss on Twitter.
Leeds travel south to take on Smith’s side at Villa Park ahead of Sunday’s encounter, which will be another match in which the two sides are broadcasted on Sky Sports.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men go into the match in impeccable form, winning their last five Championship matches – and have conceded just one goal in that time during a 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers.
Despite that impressive stat, Smith was quoted by the Birmingham Mail as sending a warning to Leeds – saying his side will score no mater who they play: “It doesn’t matter who we play against – Stoke, Leeds, West Brom, we will score.”
Villa have also been in decent form of late, remaining unbeaten in their last seven games – of which they have won four. They have scored at a ratio of three a game, finding the back of the net 21 times. But they have also conceded 11.
Leeds fans reacted angrily to Smith’s comments, with some believing he is being far too arrogant ahead of Sunday’s clash. Some, though, reckon he has done Bielsa’s team talk for him.
