The Black Cats are the only side who have already been relegated from the Championship heading into the final day of the season, and they have marked the occasion by confirming that Chris Coleman has left the club with new owners on the horizon at the Stadium of Light.
The change of ownership suggests that brighter times may be ahead for Sunderland, but their next boss still faces the tricky task of guiding the club out of League One next term, so the next appointment is absolutely crucial. Luckily for Sunderland fans, several Leeds supporters have suggested one option that they should consider.
They want Sunderland to make another approach for Paul Heckingbottom.

It is certainly an indication of how much work Heckingbottom has to do before he wins over the large sections of the Leeds supporters who are convinced that he is not the right man to take the club forward in the coming years.
He did walk into a tricky job at Elland Road, but the fact that he has overseen just three wins and there have been few notable signs of progress on the pitch along the way suggests that he has much to prove before his own fans stop touting him for jobs with other clubs.
