The Leeds United youngster put pen to paper on Monday.

Leeds United announced on Monday night that Leif Davis had signed a new contract.
The 19-year-old is a very exciting left-back and although he has been used sparingly this season and last under Marcelo Bielsa, he clearly has a big future in the game.
That being said, it’s also a relatively low-profile contract extension for the same reason, that Davis isn’t a huge player for Leeds as of yet.
By tonight, many fans of the Elland Road club might have even forgotten that the extension even happened.
But this deal is a lot more important than it looks right now.
That’s because Davis was reportedly the subject of interest from Liverpool this past summer. Back in May, The Sun reported that the would-be European champions were keen on the teenage defender.
Obviously a move never materialised, but it’s worth remembering that the Reds – who signed 16-year-old Harvey Elliot and a 17-year-old Sepp van den Berg in the summer – are building for the future and there’s nothing to say that they wouldn’t have gone back for Davis at some point.
And that still might be the case, but at least Leeds are protected that bit more. They can demand that bit more money for the youngster.
We won’t be talking about Davis’s contract extension in a few days in the same way that we would if it was Pablo Hernandez who had put pen to paper, but that isn’t to say that tying him down isn’t a very significant step by the Elland Road club nonetheless.
